Our Aims

The school seeks to care for the whole child and to prepare that child for the wider community in which they live. To this end, the curriculum programme of the school aims to be balanced and broadly based, seeking to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of each pupil.
The school provides the full range of National Curriculum subjects, in addition to other enriching activities. |
Our aim is to give every child the opportunity:
- to promote the spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, physical and emotional development of each child
- to master the basic skills of reading, writing and oral expression
- to receive a thorough grounding in mathematical experience and practice
- to develop an interest in, and an understanding of the environment in which they live
- to create a happy, caring school environment and help each child to appreciate the importance of personal relationships and the various needs of others
- to compare, sort, classify, record, seek answers to questions, and generally develop good study practice
- to experience and follow a wide variety of activities in art, craft, drama, dance, music, RE and develop their aesthetic awareness
- to provide a rich, stimulating environment which engenders the feeling that education is an exciting and pleasurable part of our lives
- to encourage pupils to achieve the highest standard of which they are capable and so lift their self confidence in their ability to work
- to develop in each child good working habits and a high degree of self discipline and self motivation
- to prepare each child for the next phase of their education
- to foster close links with the local communities and enable each pupil to understand the importance of good citizenship
