Sapperton Primary School
Sapperton Church of England Primary School
We are a traditional village school. We have been in our Victorian building since 1848 although the history of the school has been traced back to the 1700s. We are situated in the small village of Sapperton which is on the edge of the beautiful Golden Valley.
Our reputation for strong academic results and supporting a very broad curriculum means that we not only attract children from Sapperton and the surrounding villages but we are chosen by parents from further a field like Cirencester and the Stroud valley.
We are a church foundation school and are very proud of our strong links with the village church and the community in which we are based. We hold our own services at Christmas and Harvest Festival and enjoy sharing these with parents and villagers alike.
In contrast to our buildings there is nothing Victorian about our facilities. We are well resourced with all the latest IT and audio-video equipment. We have our own playing field, large adventure playground, nature conservation area and traditional playground.

As well as supporting the main National Curriculum subjects we have a strong tradition in Music, Sport and the Arts.
Music By making the most of specialist teachers we are able to offer lessons in a wide range of instruments including piano, flute, oboe, violin, trumpet and cornet. We have our own orchestra which meets weekly and plays a major role in our end of summer term musical. | First Musical Experience |

Sport By bringing together qualified members of staff, outside instructors and, with parental help we aim to give every child the opportunity to pursue a sporting activity. Gymnastics, games, swimming and dance are all part of the curriculum with extra opportunities provided through after-school clubs |
The Arts There are many opportunities for children to be involved in the arts in addition to the formal curriculum. We have visits to arts events, museums and theatres and invite local artists to visit the school. | Spinning with local artist |
