Every Thursday Mr Alun Smith a local man from Coates, who is passionate about chess, comes into school to run the weekly chess club.
The children learn the rules of the game. |  |

Then they get to put what they have learnt into practise. |
They recently had the chance to attend a friendly chess tournament at Powells School.
